Last year we changed our primary residence to Loch Erin in Lenawee County. We had almost no prior knowledge and no personal contacts in the area. As Buzby Builders, LLC built our new house, Pete was very supportive of us, the newcomers. He was knowledgeable and direct during the whole project. Pete was anxious to communicate with us on any concern, large or small. Since we were not living close to the building site, this was especially helpful. In retrospect, we are well satisfied with both the process and the product. We feel fortunate to have found Buzby Builders.

Beginning in November 2003, we began the project of building a house on Loch Erin with Pete Buzby and Buzby Builders, LLC. Through its completion in August of 2004, the process of the "building" was very positive, which is generally not the case. Pete and his team were attentive in every step of the way, from the original plan layout and modifications to the selected plan, to keeping the project on plan and schedule. If anything was outside the agreed to plan in terms of design or cost, Pete consistently communicated with us to make sure we were aware of the issues and for our approval. The fine detail of this house was critical to us and Buzby Builders LLC oversaw that all the important design elements were carried out in the process. They were on top of the project all the way through and were always willing to meet with us at any time, including at a moments notice or even Saturday's and Sunday's. Living an hour away from the new house posed many logistic challenges for us but working with Buzby Builders LLC gave us a level of confidence that we did not have to consistently be monitoring the progress. I would recommend Buzby Builders for any future project.

Pete,

I was recently on vacation relaxing in my new dream home and reflected on the building process. It is difficult to appreciate the value of what was constructed until you live in the house and experience all situations and seasons in your new nest. I really appreciate all the helpful ideas and suggestions from yourself and your sub-contractors. Right from the planning, pre-construction meetings and multiple site visits I always felt the construction field decisions and suggestions were good ideas in the my best interest. Your contractors really know their business and once they understood my exact building conditions their input to the plan and design has proven over time to be ideas in my best interest. Let me give you a few examples: * We dug the foundation a foot deeper than planned and moved more dirt from the walkout basement. This was at the suggestion of your contractor, Richardson's Excavation. It proved invaluable to the views from my walk out basement, the effective drainage and general look of our rear elevation. I really didn't understand the value of this until I saw my first spring wet season, my first sunrise and look of a fresh cut lawn in the summer. It was a leap of faith at the time but it worked out great. * Your foundation contractor talked me into eliminating a planned crawl space on the sun room portion of my house. This was a cost effective way to get extra space. I can't live without that space now that I have it! * You talked me into a structural foam insulation process. It really keeps the drafts out of our home and the lowers our heating and cooling costs. I think it paid for itself in the first year. I never experienced a stick build home so air tight and efficient. * Your design ideas for our custom kitchen really gave it the finishing touches. With all the design work we did ourselves I often get compliments on the area behind the sink. This was where we stalemated on ideas and you helped us out with the bump out and plate rack cabinet idea. It looks great and provides just the right finishing touch that people notice. Everything didn't go perfect but it is reassuring doing business with a person who has the integrity to guide you in the right direction. While writing out the mortgage payment is always painful, I see appreciate the value in my custom Buzby built HOME. Anybody can build a house, I really appreciate the craftsmanship that makes this our HOME.
